Kathleen’s three new paintings.
Over the summer, my attention was focused on water and reflection. All three new paintings have a dreamy stillness to them and, to me, the feeling of endless, warm summer days. The first, “Tomales Bay”, is a distant view of Black (“Elephant”) Mountain, seen from across the bay on a low tide. We’ve kayaked along the shore of Tomales Bay many times over many years and have climbed to the top of Black Mountain only once. “Corte Madera Marsh” is a view of Tamalpais from the wetlands behind Marin Catholic High School, near the bike path, on an unusually high tide. “Corte Madera Creek” show the reflection of Tamalpais close to the ferry terminal where the creek flows into San Francisco Bay.
